About Dave's 50th:
This has been the best birthday ever! Maybe that's because it's been going on and on and on... Kerri's plan to kidnap me was brilliantly conceived - I didn't have a clue about anything all weekend long. We drove to Vegas and then took our helicopter flight early the next morning. It was a perfect day to fly and we were amazed at the sight of the Valley of Fire, the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. We flew for 2.5 hours - plenty of time to take it all in - very cool. Then we went off to a "massage" that actually turned out to be a clever meeting with our friends from So Cal - Daryl & Renee. We really enjoyed catching up with them and goofing off. It was a fabulous weekend that I'll always remember. Then we had our party at the house last night - lots of friends and good food. And THE BOOK - what an amazing piece of work! I finally had time tonight to sit down and go through it page by page. Thanks to Karli and Erik for all your hard work in putting that wonderful keepsake together. We're going to order 4 more so that each of my kids can have their own copy. I think that's one of the most memorable gifts I've ever received. And if that wasn't enough, I signed a huge downtown commercial deal on Monday after nearly a month of negotiations and meetings. The payoff will come next year when we sell off the space, but it will be worth the wait. Oh - and I scored an incredible deal on a new road bike that will keep me competitive for the next few seasons - all carbon fiber, very light, fast, rigid and super comfortable. So it's been a good couple of weeks. Thanks to all of you for your wishes and gifts - I've felt pretty good about turning 50.
